| The Partners in Inquiry
(Pi) program promotes inquiry as an instructional approach through
partnerships between graduate students and grade 3-8 teachers. Pi
Fellows partner with teachers to develop teaching skills, foster
science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) content gain
among teachers, and enrich K-12 students' learning of STEM concepts and
applications.
Graduate students in STEM
content areas are encouraged to apply as Pi Fellows for the coming
year. Each Pi Fellow is appointed as a 10 hour per week research
assistant through the Center for Teaching Excellence. The Pi program is currently accepting applications for the Spring 06 term. Half-year Pi Fellows receive a $5,000 stipend over a 4.5 month period (Spring 06).
